The lid has another standout feature, one I really liked: it offers 360 degree drinking: wherever you place your mouth around lid, you can drink.

after folding, fits well in your pocket, purse, backpack, suitcase and takes up no space, ideal for picnics, camping, road trip and outdoor hiking. In light of this, and the single-use plastic hiatus – aka Plastic Free July – now encouraging us to make more eco-friendly choices, is now finally the time to start making the shift? After repeatedly dirtying and cleaning each travel mug, a group of testers assess each mug for how a cup of tea taste in it, noting any strange, residual flavours. Large capacity: with this collapsible mug, you can enjoy your favorite beverages (both hot and cold) anytime at anywhere.package includes】when receiving our product, you can see two folded cups with sealing lid,we offer different color choice for you, just select what you like and take it home, then you will enjoy a nice using experience. Unfortunately, it’s a bit tricky, and requires practise to avoid dribbles – although an upside is that a wider-than-average rim means this is a travel mug that’s biscuit-dunking friendly. Weight: with so many different insulating materials on offer, the cups varied from super-light to fairly weighty. This glass bottle, which is available in three different colours all with a palm tree design, comes complete with a detachable base-diffuser and a secure stainless-steel lid. The material serves as an effective alternative to plastic, and, handily, this Huskup cup can be slung on your compost heap when you’re finished with it.

We found it kept our cold drinks cool for several hours, up to 24 in fact, not that you’ll be able to resist drinking a delicious frappe for that length of time. The Frank Green is made with a stainless steel lining, which I’ve found to provide the best insulation, and therefore keep drinks hot the longest. You’ll want a lightweight, leakproof, insulating container to carry it in safely, and we think this cup is among the best for the job. It lost out to the Thermos as it doesn’t keep coffee hot for quite as long, and it doesn’t look quite as nice. If the cup takes a tumble with the lid unlocked, a safety valve rapidly shuts, ensuring your beverage remains housed within.Even after testing many different mugs, it’s still our favourite in all the factors we consider important – not least because the company helps tackle the problem of takeaway cups in more ways than one. The cap screws onto the bottle like a normal cap, but once on, you can unscrew the middle bit all the way off, so you can drink freely like from a regular coffee mug, or half-way if you prefer to sip with a reduced flow. Dry with the lid off As most travel mugs are leakproof, leaving them to dry with the lid on will likely trap humidity and odours inside. Okay, lets say you are travelling on a plane, you would have limited space, so you could collapse it full of a costa latte and then open it once squashed in economy (better than the disgusting coffee they serve on the plane). A reusable vessel is a perfect answer for people looking to cut waste without having to kick the caffeine habit.

Design-wise, the coffee cup is slight, meaning it slots easily into my rucksack without taking up too much room. Being leakproof is also important, although all mugs require you to allow your drink to cool down slightly before putting on the lid, otherwise a build-up of steam can cause spurting.Partnering with Barclaycard, the coffee chain has created the UK’s first reusable contactless coffee cup. When locked, the lid creates a perfect seal and despite our best efforts, which included tipping it upside down and shaking it, we were unable to elicit any liquid out of its confines. Like the Nespresso Touch Travel Mug in second place, this Le Creuset reusable coffee cup has a ribbed design around the middle for grip. A touch-sensitive display on the front of the mug itself can also be used to check and change the temperature, so no worry if your phone is not at hand.

The cup is pleasant to drink from and features a swivel stopper to close the mouthpiece and prevent leaks, but we wouldn’t risk putting it in our bags if it were full.

I still found it worked a little too well, and found myself taking the lid off so I could drink from it sooner. The insulating performance is outstanding, keeping drinks hot for up to 11 hours and cold for 38 hours, perfect for long expeditions (although we’d suggest taking more than one cup because you’ll need more than 355ml to stay hydrated). We focused on flavour, durability, sustainability, how long they kept my drink warm, how small they were on the go, how secure the lid was, whether there were any spills and how grippy each mug was on the go. As for insulation, hot drinks are kept warm for hours and the same goes for iced coffees, although I would recommend removing the lid to avoid the ice getting stuck next to the drinking hole and blocking the liquid. Travel mugs are checked at the end of the day to see if they keep the drink warm or cool over the course of a whole day.
