a b c Awbi, Anita (27 October 2011). "Review: Twisting My Melon by Shaun Ryder". PRS for Music. Archived from the original on 9 May 2021 . Retrieved 12 May 2022. It wouldn't be the only time "lemon" has become "melon" in the music world. There was a group called Blind Melon which debuted in 1992, and we can presume that their name is a tribute to blues legend Blind Lemon Jefferson. A noteworthy character here is Yi Chan's grandmother acted by Go Doo Shim. Loved her positive presence throughout the show... somehow this show is such a comfort watch thing and quite entertaining if you end up liking the characters. I watched it as it aired so I actually become reluctant towards the end that like "is it really ending tomorrow? I'll miss them"

Sutton, Michael. "Shaun Ryder Biography, Songs, & Albums". AllMusic. Archived from the original on 3 October 2021 . Retrieved 12 May 2022. This song captivates me still, after 50+ years. Takes me to the deep South and the poverty of some who lived thru truly hard times. And the powerful spirit of a poor young girl being abandoned to her future with only a red dress and her wits to keep her alive. a b Long, Canilla (18 September 2011). "Twisting My Melon by Shaun Ryder". The Times. Archived from the original on 7 October 2021 . Retrieved 13 May 2022.I kinda knew that it was going to have a 'fate can never be changed' kind of ending. If everything was going to change nothing would have remained the same and there wouldn't have been any guarantee that Yi Chan and Cheong Ah would have ended up togther just because they were dating during high school.

She not only stayed alive, she turned her hard beginnings around, became self sufficient, successful and someone with respect for herself. She didn't let the naysayers and judgers stop her. She's the one sitting in the drivers seat at the end.a b c d e Dingwall, John (9 October 2011). "Shaun Ryder: My life is a blur - I can remember the 60s better than the 80s". Daily Record. Archived from the original on 20 December 2017 . Retrieved 13 May 2022. What I loved the most in this drama is Yoon Cheong Ah, the bunny girl who is literally the word "cute". A deaf girl who has not received much warmth growing up but she isn't all weak and tries to protect herself in whatever ways possible. I love how they chose the right actress Shin Eun Soo for this role because her smile is honestly all pretty and as worthy as Eun Gyeol talks about in some scenes.

Add your thoughts

Overall, this was a very good drama. I really loved it. A solid 9/10 from me. But there were many plotholes and things that were not explained and didn't have a proper closure. Though the ending wasn't rushed, I think that a few more minutes or an addictional episode would have been good. Now, depending on the Happy Mondays' musical influences, the line could be a play on the standard blues theme "squeeze my lemon". What does "squeeze my lemon" mean? Draw your own conclusion from this stanza from Led Zeppelin's The Lemon Song: Another question is does Eun Gyeol remember his life after the time travel like the 18 years of his life when he grew up wealthy?

But the show belongs to Paul's brother Shaun, one of the most loveable rogues of modern times. Singing lines like "God rains it E's all on me" and the still baffling "Your twisting my melon man" on the timeless "Step On" (the song to which every indie kid learnt to dance to) he talks his way through with a swagger matched only by Ian Brown." According to an on-line review of the Happy Mondays' 1990 album "Pills, Thrills, and Bellyaches", it would seem that they made it up. The reviewer refers to the line as "still baffling":

Vicious, controlling and unstable: The dark side of Steve McQueen

Twisting My Melon: The Autobiography is named after a catchphrase Ryder exclaimed during the opening moments of " Step On". [6] The phrase itself stemming from Steve McQueen. [7] The book details his early upbringing in Salford, dropping out of education to become a postman and discovering drugs in the process. [4] [8] He discussed forming Happy Mondays in 1980, their period on Factory Records and success with their third studio album Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches (1990). [8] Ryder admitted that this period was a "bit of a blur. I can actually remember the Sixties better than the Eighties," attributing this to having a thyroid condition. [4] He referred to himself during this time as a caricature, akin to Alice Cooper. [5] Shaun Ryder autobiography out this week". Louder Than War. 15 September 2022. Archived from the original on 27 February 2021 . Retrieved 13 May 2022. The comedic timings in this drama were perfect. After all Choi Hyun Wwook is there in this drama. I loved Ha Yi Chan blurting out random english words in the middle of the sentences. lol Jewison said: “He (McQueen) would say, you’re twisting my melon, man, you’re twisting my melon. You’re getting me all mixed up… he used to say to me. He talked so hip I never knew what he was saying half the time.”
