The present day Sealed Knot Regiment was formed in 1971 in the Blackheath area of South East London. Since then we have expanded and now have members throughout the UK, although the majority are in the south-east of England.  

Members of the Regiment can participate in a number of ways - they can fight on the field as a Pikeman, Musketeer, or Drummer. There are also non-combatant roles in the Baggage Trayne and living history, or as an adherent.

We are organised in two field companies - the Lieut. Colonel's Company and the Sgt. Major's Company. These two field companies are organised on historical lines with the correct structure of officers and sergeants. The musketeers and pikemen in each company are organised into corporalships, each headed by an experienced member of the Regiment with the rank of corporal.

When the Regiment forms-up at a muster or drill, the musketeers from the Colonel's company form the right hand musket division and the pikemen from the company form the right hand pike division. The pikemen from the Sgt. Major's company form the left hand pike division and their musketeers form the left hand musket division. The drummers from both companies form one division and take their positions between the first musket and first pike divisions.

The Regiment belongs to a brigade, Prince Palatine's Tertio, in which we fight alongside The Earl Rivers' Regiment, The Earl of Northampton's Regiment, Sir Thomas Glemham's Regiment and Sir Henry Vaughan's Company. Palatine's Tertio is commanded by Colonel Arthur Jackson.

Prince Palatine's Tertio manoeuvres and fights in two battalia. Rupert's form one battalia and Northampton's/ Rivers'/Vaughan's form the second battalia.

Although every member of the Regiment is assigned to a field company, they can attend any of the monthly social meetings that are held in London and Aylesbury.
